Drilling fluid cleaning system BDCMS-200K

Why is it worth it?

Our drilling fluid cleaning system is a modern solution that significantly reduces the cost of drilling works and minimizes the negative impact on the environment. Thanks to advanced fluid separation and recirculation technology, the entire drilling process becomes more economical, cleaner and safer.

Environmental benefits

  • Reduction of drilling waste – less sludge goes to landfills
  • Lower water consumption – the system allows the same drilling fluid to be reused many times
  • Lower carbon footprint – less waste transport and raw material consumption
  • Cleaner drilling sites – reduced risk of soil and groundwater contamination

Key advantages of the system

  1. Lower drilling fluid material purchase costs – Fluid recovery allows bentonite and chemical additives to be reused. Savings reach up to 30-60% on materials depending on the scale of the project.
  2. Lower waste disposal costs – Far less drilling fluid ends up in containers and being hauled away. The mass of waste for disposal is reduced by up to 70-80%. Real savings on transport and environmental fees.
  3. Shorter working time and higher efficiency – Cleaner drilling fluid = faster drilling, lower pump wear. Shorter drilling time means lower labor and equipment costs (daily rates).
  4. Equipment protection and longer service life – Fewer abrasive particles in the fluid = slower wear of pumps, heads and rods. Lower servicing and spare parts costs.
  5. Better project cost predictability – Stable drilling fluid parameters help avoid unplanned downtime and breakdowns. Easier budget control and more accurate bid calculations.
  6. Return on investment (ROI) – In many cases the system pays for itself after just a few larger projects. Subsequent jobs are practically “pure profit” from material and operating savings.

Drilling fluid treatment process

Drilling fluid loaded with cuttings from the mud pit no. 1 is pumped into the buffer tank no. 2 by an external pump.

It is then directed from tank no. 2 onto the bottom screens of the shale shaker  no. 3 to separate the coarser material. Large cuttings particles are removed from the system, while the fluid with fine cuttings passes through the bottom screen deck and flows into the main fluid tank no. 4.

The drilling fluid with fine cuttings held  in tank no. 4 is then fed by the mud pump no. 5 to the inlet of the hydrocyclone(s) no. 6. After the particles are spun off and separated in the hydrocyclones (desilters/desanders)  no. 6, the cuttings  are removed through the bottom outlet of the hydrocyclone and fall  onto the top screen deck  of the shale shaker no. 3, where they are dried and discharged outside. The fluid cleaned  in this way overflows through the top outlet of hydrocyclone no. 3 back into the buffer tank  no. 2.

When the fluid level in the  main tank no. 4 drops below the safe  float level, the fluid inlet  opens and clean fluid flows into tank no. 4, creating a closed circuit. When the drilling fluid level  reaches the designed height, the fluid inlet  closes and clean fluid overflows through the top outlet of the buffer tank  no. 2 into the clean fluid storage tank on site.

If a large amount of cuttings  accumulates at the bottom of the fluid buffer tank no. 2, a valve can be switched to open the flushing line no. 7. In that case the fluid  is sprayed through flushing nozzles, causing circulation and mixing, which makes it possible to clean the sediment inside the buffer tank.
