Swellgel R

Swellgel R is a finely ground, partially activated bentonite developed for drilling-fluid systems requiring relatively low viscosity combined with very efficient cuttings transport. Its optimized mineral composition and polymer modification provide a flat flow curve and strong low-shear-rate performance.

Thanks to these properties, SWELLGEL R is particularly suitable for use with recycling units such as shale shakers and hydrocyclones, where good solids removal and stable drilling-fluid performance are required.

Swellgel R is particularly suitable for long vertical and horizontal sections in vertical and directional drilling. It can also be used in microtunnelling, tunnelling and other freshwater-based drilling applications.

Mixing ratios below are based on the use of fresh water. Water quality can affect bentonite performance. For best results, make-up water should be pre-treated with soda ash to a pH of 8.5-9.5. SWELLGEL R should be added slowly through a jet or hopper mixer.

Paper bags with film liner: 25 kg.  40 bags on a single-use wooden pallet. All pallets are stretch-wrapped.  Big bags: 1,000 kg and 650 kg.
