Modiquick 02 – Cement setting accelerating additive

Modiquick 02 is a sodium silicate based cement additive that accelerates the setting of cement slurries while increasing early strength gain. The product is CE marked and meets the requirements of PN-EN 934-5 (Table 2 - Admixtures for sprayed concrete).

Application

Modiquick 02 can be used in the production of:

sprayed concretes,
injection mixes, cement-bentonite fillings, e.g. for TBM;
cement mixes where a workability time of up to 72 hours is required;
specialty mixes in combination with set retarding admixtures and polycarboxylate polymer based additives.

Dosage

Usually Modiquick 02 is used at a concentration of 6% to 10% of cement weight, depending on the composition of the mix and its required strength. In special cases the concentration can be increased up to 18%.
As an additive for TBM mixes, a dose of 5-8 kg/m3 is most often used.
The optimum amount of Modiquick 02 and its mixing time should be determined on the basis of technological trials.
Since early strength is most affected by the temperature of the mix, it is recommended to keep it
at a temperature of at least +10°C.

pH ±13;
Chloride content < 0,10%
Alkali content < 15,0%; (Na2O equivalent)

Packaging and storage

Modiquick 02 is supplied in 1000 kg IBC containers or by tanker. Shelf life: 12 months from the date of manufacture.
Store the product in its original, factory-sealed packaging at a temperature of +5°C to +30°C, away from other substances, especially acidic ones. Protect from frost and direct sunlight.
